Due to leader conflicts, and to allow the sisters to attend RS meeting, we will be canceling Den Meetings on August 22nd.

The rocket building (that was scheduled for August 22nd) will take place as the opening activity for Pack Meeting next Thursday, August 29th.  Boys and families can build rockets from 6:30-6:45pm.  We will begin the meeting promptly at 6:45 and we will launch rockets during Pack Meeting.

Just a few items to note for August:

1. Thursday, August 1st is our Annual Summer Water Activity.  Come to Monarch Meadows Park for water sliding fun from 6:15 to 7"15pm.  Wear your swim suit.
2. Den Meetings begin again August 8th.  They are held on Thursday's from 6:15-7:00pm at the church.  Please make sure your cub attends each week - especially on August 22nd, they will be building Rockets for a Rocket Launch at Pack Meeting.
3. Pack Meeting will be held on August 29th.  There will be an activity beginning at 6:35 for people to do as they arrive.  The meeting will start at 6:45pm and we will finish at 7:30pm.  The Cubs will be launching the rockets that they made during den meeting.

As we begin this new year, we are going to make some changes to Pack Meeting.  The purpose of Pack Meeting is to celebrate each Cub Scout's accomplishments during the preceding month.  It should be a fun time for the entire family.  Based on this, we will be trying to keep it to 45 minutes, and we will be inviting all members of the family (yes parents, that means you too!) to participate.

Upcoming Cub Scout Activities

Just a few reminders and changes for Cub Scouts this summer:

1. This week, Thursday, May 30th is a 5th Thursday, so there will NOT be a den meeting.
2. June's Pack Meeting will be held on June 20th instead of June 27th.  It will be an Arrow of Light Ceremony.  Den Meetings will be held on June 6, 13, and 27th.
3. In July, we will not have any Den or Pack Meetings.  Cub Scout Day Camp will be held on Monday, July 22nd and Tuesday, July 23rd.  Each family should pay $25 (on a ward donations slip with "CUB scout camp" on the "Other" line.  I need parent volunteers to help on those two days  We have to have 1 adult for every 5 boys.  If you are available and would like to attend, please let me know.  If I don't have enough volunteers, I will start making phone calls.
4. August 1st will be our Summer Water Activity - more information to come.
5. Den Meetings for August will be held the following 3 weeks.
6. Cub-o-ree is coming up in September.  The cost is $5 in advance, and $7 at the door.  Please pay your $5 on a donation slip (you can combine it with Day Camp if you like), and let me know if you would like me to pre-register your cub scout.  The date is Friday, Sept 6th for Webelos, and Saturday, Sept 7th for the Wolf and Bear Dens.  This is a GREAT activity for your boys to make progress on their rank advancements.  The Webelos will be earning 3 activity pins that night.
